• Pompei
The ancient Roman city of Pompei was destroyed and buried by the eruption of the Vesuvio in 79 A.D, preserving it forever exactly how it was when the eruption occurred.  Pompei holds an intense fascination for visitors today.  Following the eruption of the volcano Pompei lay buried and forgotten for hundreds of years.
The town is high on the list of the Wonders of the World and the excavations begun in the 18th Century are still being carried out today.

Our guide will take you slowly through this once thriving empire of nearly 20,000 inhabitants that was completely covered in 30 feet of volcanic ash, where you can see some of the ancient streets of Pompei baths, forums, theatres, wrestling grounds and villas built by the prosperous Romans in the year 80 B.C.   Marvel at the fabulously preserved Frescos which adorned the walls and floors of the villas.   Even if your interests do not lie in history, this is an archeological site that cannot fail to impress you.

• Ercolano (Herculaneum)
Our journey takes you along the coast road through Castellammare di Stabia and out along the motorway to Ercolano which was destroyed along with Pompei in 79 AD, and was rediscovered in 1709. An ancient residential town of Greek origins, a smaller town with a wealthier population at the time of the eruption. Covered by a torrent of mud rather than ash, the ruins are in some ways even better-preserved, and the site offers a variety of beautiful scenery and invaluable arts.  Embark on a walking tour through the villas with portico gardens, fountains and baths, and admire the wall frescoes and floor mosaics.
