Emilia Romagna runs from the Apennines to the Adriatic and nearly every town

Ravenna, the last capital of the Western Roman Empire, is resplendent in her Byzantine monument, embellished with mosaics. Bologna has Italy's oldest university, the Basilica of St. Petronio and the famous Asinelli and Garisenda towers. Reggio Emilia, Piacenza, Modena, Ferrara, Parma are rich in art treasures. For handicrafts, there are the handmade leather goods, furniture, ceramics, alabaster, marble and wrought iron. The cuisine is famous for its meat dishes, sausages, Comacchio eels, tortellini and lasagna. Wines: Lambrusco, Sangiovese, Albana, Bianco di Scandiano.
Modena has become one of the riches and most advanced city in Europe and is located in the middle of the Po Valley, in one of the most developed areas on the whole continent. Well known world wide for such icon as Enzo Ferrari and Luciano Pavarotti, and gastronomical products such as tortellini, Lambrusco wine, and balsamic vinegar.
