The area is dominated by the imposing and well preserved structure of three Doric temples, dating back to the 6^th century B.C.    Near the archaeological area there is a museum with a rich collection of Greek art and antiquities, including the world famous "Diver's Tomb", symbol of the passage from Life to the Unknown.
