• Amalfi coast stopping
along the way take a picture or two, maybe stop to see the local
cameo factories or a lunch in one of the local restaurants or a
stop to visit the Amalfi's Cathedral. Amalfi -
gives its name to the whole coast on which it lies. Once a
thriving Marine Republic, powerful and prosperous and now a
thriving holidays resort.
The cluster of
white tightly packed houses rising up along the hillside is
dominated by the magnificent Cathedral which stands majesticly
on top of a great flight of steps leading up from the main
square. In the Cathedral are the remains of the Patron
Saint of Amalfi and also Scotland's Saint Andrew.

• Ravello nestles eleven hundred feet above the sea in
the hillside, is undoubtedly one of the most suggestive places
of the whole Coast. A rural village
unspoilt by tourism, perched on top of the mountain cliff above
Amalfi and Minori. The natural beauty and ancient
monuments of Ravello are presented at their best in the gardens
of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. It was here that
Villa Rufolo gave the musician Richard Wagner the inspiration to
create one of his most famous operas, Parsifal. Ravello was
also the
inspiration of past personalities such as Keats, Winston Churchill,
Kennedy etc
